Motormate versus Transom Savers; Motormate Prevents Damage Better Than Transom Savers; Better Than Lock-n-Haul

Motormate prevents costly damage to your steering cables and transom better than lock-n-haul and transom savers.  Transom savers do not lock your steering cables in place.  Motormate locks your steering cables in place.  Motormate is made in America and has a 3 year warranty.

transomsaver_no

Transom savers were invented in the days before hydraulics were used in outboard motors!  They were never designed to save steering cables or hydraulics, or even the transom itself with curent equipment.  Motormate has been created and designed by technicians who are very knowledgable with modern equipment.  There is no more need for plastic steering cable clamps; Motormate does it all.

Our pro-staffers help prove that Motormate is better for preventing damage incurred during travel to and from the water than transom savers.  See an example of what we are talking about.

Motormate is always looking forward to a head-to-head comparison with products such as Lock-n-Haul

Motormate is made of stainless steel powder coated and not painted for durability.  Motormate will not fall off the boat in those unfortunate occurrances that are thrust upon us when encountering road hazards and other very scary situations.

Motormate makes it to the bass open on Lake Douglas in Tennessee

Motormate makes it to the Bass Open on Lake Douglas in Tennessee

On Friday May 27, 2011 the tournament went out at Lake Point Marina.  What a great place for the tournament.  We met up with some of our pro staff; Gerald Swindel, aka “G-Man”.  What a guy.  Skeet Reese told G-Man that the Motormate would bend.  G-Man’s reply was “I’ve traveled from one end to the other and it looks like I just put it on.  We would like to thank Casey Ashley, Gerald Swindel, Tim Sailer, Bucky Helms and many more; they have all been a great help to Motormate.  By the way Skeet, your Motormate is on the way!

Jason Quinn is also on board with Motormate.  He could not believe how well it locks the steering cables in place.

Motormate looks forward to all upcoming tournaments and meeting all the great people that gather at these type of events.  It seems like our fan club is steadily building.  See ya next time.

Motormate at the FLW Expo in Greenville, SC
Motormate just returned from the FLW Expo in Greenville, S.C., and what a great time we had!  Congratulations to Bryan Thrift who took a top five finish.  Motormate would also like to thank the Hibdon family, Guido, Dion and Payden, for their support at the show.  They all took home a Motormate for their personal boats.  We spoke with them after they got home, and they said they could not believe how well the product worked.  On their trip home, they watched as others passed by towing their boats with motors shaking and bouncing around....but not the ones with a Motormate Locking System.

Motormate will remain "American Made"
Motormate was approached recently by a salesperson that offered to save the company a lot of money by manufacturing it's product in India.  This really was upsetting to hear, and this gentleman basically got the "talk to the hand" response.  We want you all to know that we would rather quit making Motormates than take jobs and money away from the American people.  We know how tough the economy is, and we would never dream of moving any part of our production to another country.  So, when you see the Motormate logo that says "Proudly Made In the USA"; know that we mean, we stand behind it, and we hope that you will request more American made products in your life! God is blessing us every day on this soil, so we will bless Him back on this same soil!

Winter Fishing

Motormate is looking forward to this upcoming winter series of bass tournaments starting December 5th.  Last year the catch was unbeatable at times.  Lake Norman is becoming a great spotted bass lake, but when winter comes it produces some hefty large mouth.  We are looking forward to seeing some of our new customers, and old friends on the lake.  Good luck guys!

What do you do when you see a boat adrift?

Clifton was working the Motormate business in Seneca, and decided to do a little fishing on Lake Hartwell with his buddy Ronnie.  While fishing, they noticed a Stratos Bass Boat adrift up Keowee River, and there were no boat docks or people in sight.  They pulled up beside the boat and saw that both the boat keys and the owner’s truck keys were in the boat.  Clifton called 911, afraid something had happened to the missing fisherman, and gave the dispatcher his location from his Lowrance GPS.  The dispatcher contacted South Carolina Fish and Game, and had them call Clifton back to get the numbers off the boat.  Fish and Game tried to get in contact with the owner with no luck.  Clifton and Ronnie then secured the boat to the bank, and gave the GPS location to Fish and Game.  As they were securing the boat, the owner came out of the woods, where he had been deer hunting.  He was very grateful for what they had done, because “it would have been a long swim to get his boat back”.  So, if you are using your boat to deer hunt, make sure you secure it to the bank…….and you probably want to take the keys with you.

Our buddy Jacob is still throwin em in the boat!

Our good friend Jacob is still doing well with the UNCC Bass Rats.  He and his partner Eric fished the Wake Forest Invitational College Tournament this past weekend on Lake Gaston, which is on the North Carolina/Virginia border.  They said it was a tough day, but they caught fish on a frog and buzz bait, and came in 4th place with 3 fish weighing in at 6 pounds.  Jacob said first place was 11 pounds and 2nd and 3rd had 8 pounds.  Motormate is really proud of these guys and their commitment to the sport of bass fishing as well as their education.  Keep up the good fishing guys…..and those grades!

Motormate supports Collegiate Bass Fishing.

Motormate is so excited about Bass Fishing being recognized as a college sport.  It is “officially classified by some as an athletic sport, putting it on the same level as other team sports with recruitment and athletic scholarships”.  The Bass Federation formed the Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) to further help this growing sport.  What we are most excited about is that Motormate has a very close friend who is now fishing at the collegiate level at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Jacob Whitaker is a freshman at UNCC, fishing with his team the Bass Rats.  Jacob has been in 4 club tournaments this fall and placed in the top 4 out of about 15 anglers in each of the events.  His most recent tournament was at Lake Norman,N.C., where he placed 2nd.  Jacob’s dad taught him to fish as a young boy, and he began fishing tournaments as a teenager.  He is a member of a fishing club in Fairview, NC and has fished a number of BFL tournaments as a co-angler. He has grown to love the sport so much that his dream is to become a professional angler.  We are proud of you Jacob!  Keep up the good work.

North Shelby School Charity Bass Tournament at Lake Norman.
Clifton Bradley and Brian Silvers made up one of the 120 teams fishing the North Shelby School Charity Bass Tournament at Lake Norman, this past Saturday, November 6, 2010.  It was cold and windy, but a lot of fish were caught.  Ricky Peace, the tournament director, is an outstanding person, and because of him this day was a great success.  Ricky was quoted saying, “It seems like God has had his hand in it.”  There were many local pros in attendance, and Guy Eaker was MC for the weigh-in.  Also, our thanks goes out to Chris Rogers, who photographed the event and sent us the pictures we are attaching to our website.  Motormate was proud to be a part of this wonderful tournament and look forward to attending again next year

Don Iovino Now Endorsing Motormate!

We are so excited to have Don Iovino, now endorsing Motormate.  Don was so pleased with his Motormate, that he decided to join our “endorsements from the pros” page, so you can now visit his website straight from ours.  For those of you who don’t know Don, he is a professional angler, fishing innovator, charter member of the International Fishing Hall of Fame, and one of Clifton’s favorite fisherman.

Don's top water perfection bait, called the "Big Splashit 2", is now available, along with some of the best hand poured worms on the market.

It is an incredible honor to have him as a Motormate customer and a friend!  Please check out Don’s website for any of your bass fishing needs

Thank you to Greg Clark’s Countryside Marine.

Clifton’s trim and tilt went out on his Mercury motor last week, so he took his boat down to Greg Clark’s Countryside Marine, in Weaverville, NC, for repair.  The technician said that the solenoid needed to be replaced.  He checked his stock and was out of the part he needed.  Then he offered to take the solenoid off his own personal boat, to keep Clifton fishing for the weekend.  That says a lot about Greg’s company and his employees.  Thanks guys and keep up the good work!  Greg also has a second location on Boone Lake in Tennessee, and he is stocking Motormates at both locations.

Motormate is proudly made, not only in the USA, but completely in Western North Carolina.

Motormate is proud to say that all parts are made locally in Western North Carolina.  We do our best to support our neighbors and local businesses.  Appalachian Tool and Machine, Inc., in Black Mountain, cuts all of our steel, and then the parts are shipped to Joe Duncan’s Welding shop in Swannanoa.  After welding, the Motormates are taken to Procoaters, Inc., in Kernersville, where they are powder coated.  At that point, the product is shipped to Drop Shot Shipping in Swannanoa, where they have final parts assembled and the Motormates are inspected, boxed and labeled for shipping. Thanks to all our local vendors for helping us make our product the best that it can be!

ESPN Outdoors/BASS called Motormate!

ESPN Outdoors/BASS, Senior Account Executive, Gary Abernethy, called Motormate this week, and stopped by for a 3 hour chat about our company.  We were so excited to meet Gary and discuss some marketing and advertising opportunities available in connection with BASS magazine and the Bass Masters Classic tournament coming up.  Motormate is planning to be at the Bass Masters Classic Outdoor Expo in February 2011, in New Orleans.  This will be an amazing time meeting fellow, fishermen, other vendors, and, of course, some of the most famous bass fishing fanatics in the world!  Come see us at the 2011 Bass Masters Classic!

Boone Lake tournament report.

Clifton fished in the tournament at Boone Lake, TN, Saturday, September 18th for Motormate, and won second place and biggest fish.   The fishing was tough, but it was a great day, and Motormate wants to thank Greg for all he did to make the tournament a success.  He put his time and finances into making it a good time for all involved.  All the boaters didn’t show, but Greg stuck to his word with a guaranteed $1000.00 first place prize.  He did not want to postpone the tournament, or change the prize money, even though there were not enough boats to cover the cost.  He also bought barbeque dinners for everyone there.  Clifton said it was some of the best barbeque he had ever had!  Greg is an outstanding person, and we are proud to have him as a new friend of Motormate. This tournament was also a grand opening for Greg Clark’s new marina, and the campground that is soon to come.
